Hey there! :) Yea I think this song requires a bit of explaining. :) I was reflecting upon some of the apologetical statements once mentioned by my senior pastor, that even if what we believe turns out to be false in the end, we would have nothing to lose, because in the end we would have lived a very meangingful life as well, whereas if it's true, then we've got everything that is to gain.
This song, especially the chorus, depicts a pilgrim's journey, that from all his personal experiences with God, he knows that He has to be true and yet in the eyes of the unbeliever who may come with skeptism that it's all in the head, the Christian lifts it up as a prayer to God still, saying that even if there's no heaven, even if it's all in the head, he'll still run the journey, finish the race, because he knows He's real.
A little post modernistic streak to whet the minds of those living in the current postmodern world. ;)
Verse: Life's journey seem so blurry, so dark, seemingly just dragging the body along the feet. Questions when we'll ever get out of it.
Pre-Chorus: God reveals Himself; child receives love from the source, realises that the burdens that he's been carrying are somehow lightened / exchanged.
Chorus: A little rationalisation, a little struggle, a conviction, a decision, a thanksgiving.
Hope this helps. :)
